Monfalcone is a town and comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Gorizia in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northern Italy, located on the Gulf of Trieste. Its name means "falcon mountain" (see Montfaucon in French and Falkenberg in Germanic languages).
