About Sofia

Sofia is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria. It is situated in the Sofia Valley at the skirts of Vitosha mountain, in the Western part of the country. The city is built around the Iskar river and has many natural mineral springs, such as the Sofia Central Mineral Baths (historically Jewish baths for the travelling Jewish traders). Sofia has a continental climate. Being in the centre of the Balkans, it is midway between the Black Sea of Bulgarian sea coasts, and additionally in the Balkans close to the Adriatic Sea, and towards the Aegean Sea.
